Checkout Policy

Guidelines for Borrowing and Use

Patrons must be 18 years of age or older to check out a HotSpot.
Patron must present a valid Grosse Pointe Library card in their name at time of check out.
Patron must be a Grosse Pointe resident, reside within the Grosse Public School District in Harper Woods or have purchased a non-resident Grosse Pointe Library card.
Patrons must be in good standing with the library, with a current address on file and no more than $5.00 in fines.
Mobile HotSpots may only be checked out from and returned to the Circulation Desk at any Branch of the Grosse Pointe Public Library. HotSpots may not be returned to a book drop.
Mobile HotSpots may be checked out for 14 days with no renewals.
The overdue fine is $1.00 per day until returned.
Overdue Mobile HotSpots will be deactivated within 24 hours after due date unless arrangements are made with the library.
The Mobile HotSpot can provide Wi‐Fi Internet access for up to 6 devices.

Fines and Liability

Patrons will be charged $25 for Mobile HotSpots returned to a book drop (indoor or outdoor)
The overdue fine is $1.00 per day until returned.
The Mobile HotSpot should be kept in a temperature controlled environment; DO NOT leave it in your car.
The patron is responsible for costs associated with loss or damage of the Mobile HotSpot and/or peripherals.

Instructions for Use

The Wireless Network Name (SSID) and password can be found on the HotSpot device. To connect your device to the Mobile HotSpot’s WiFi network:

Turn on the Mobile HotSpot.
On your Wi‐Fi enabled device search for available Wi‐Fi Networks and select the Network Name (SSID) for your Mobile HotSpot.
Enter the network password.
