Explore Michigan
The Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) kicks off its 14th season. More than 400 partners are active this year. Explore hundreds of Michigan’s cultural and educational institutions, historic sites, state and national parks and recreation areas, campgrounds, and more, all at reduced or even no cost. All you need to get started is a valid library card.
The Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) program is presented by The Library Network, in partnership with Michigan’s public libraries and hundreds of arts and cultural organizations, state parks and recreation areas, with more soon to come. The program is designed to enhance the learning experience for people of all ages through books and other library materials, and to provide reduced cost or complimentary access to arts and cultural organizations across the state of Michigan.
Library users with a valid library card can print one pass per week from home. You can also get a mobile pass. There's no difference between the printed or mobile pass. You will just show your MAP pass on your mobile device instead of handing in a printed pass.
Some of the participating organizations offer complimentary or reduced price admission; others offer discounts in their gift shop or other exclusive offers. Many organizations offer a limited number of passes each day, so check out the MAP website often, especially around holiday weekends. Each Michigan Activity Pass expires seven days from the day it is downloaded or printed.
Note: MAP partner destinations may close (or re-open) with little or in some cases, no advance warning. The MAP website will do its best to keep information up-to-date with MAP partner destinations. That said, if you become aware of a change to the status of a MAP partner destination in your community, please let the Library know.
